However, there will always be unsavory characters who will seize such opportunities (especially from a growing protocol) to cheat/scam/exploit new crypto users who might not know any better.
And so, we’ve come up with a few simple tips to help you keep your funds safe and secure:
1. Never give your wallet seed phrase/secret key to anyone
Seed phrases allow anyone to retrieve your crypto wallet and the funds held in it. Always write it down on a piece of paper, as opposed to taking a picture on your mobile phone or emailing it to yourself.
2. IX Swap admins and moderators will NEVER direct message (DM) you first in any of our community channels
It’s easy to change user names on Telegram, and it’s common for scammers to impersonate admins to offer help and have an excuse to ask for your seed phrase and other sensitive information.
Genuine admins will help you with your problem in the main group chat.
3. Double check IX Swap official links on our website if you’re new to the community
Besides creating user accounts that impersonate admins, scammers will also attempt to create fake telegram groups that impersonate our official channels. In these channels, the scammers will offer airdrop rewards or high staking yield in exchange for your crypto assets (which will never be seen again).

4. Ensure that you have the right token address when buying IXS (after token launch)
Another common trick is for scammers to create a token with the exact same ticker symbol. Ensure you have the right token address when buying IXS from a DEX/CEX by clarifying in our community channels or by checking IX Swap documents.
